RayOS is an Edge-Brain for modern equipment in the era of Industry 4.0, a simple way to connect the world that used to be a separate one to a continuously open modular system: machine control (AT), information technology (IT), and the Internet of Things (IoT).

RayOS is composed of 3 parts, ECAT/UPON, Linux Server and virtualization technology Base, xStudio edge automation Platform and xSuite edge data application Kit, as a complete industrial-grade edge-operating system.

RayOS can be used at all layers, from field layer and edge devices to cloud layer. With new openness, it removes boundaries and creates a new space for motion. After installing RayOS, the entire ecosystem can be accessed and required applications can be downloaded from the RayOS + APP store.

ECAT/UPON

The intra-factory network is developing in directions of integration, openness, and flexibility. Big data analysis, edge computing services, and new node devices added require more efficient and stable field-level real-time data collection and inter-level communication.

The standardized model (ECAT+UPON=EtherCAT+ Universal PON) introduced by Rayopen will meet the needs of the market and act as the infrastructure of future network.

Operating System: composed of RT-Linux (Real-time Operation System) and Linux Server (Time Sharing Operating System).
Improve the utilization rate and processing capability of the computer, to achieve efficient response and processing of real-time data, and further to provide concurrent services for several users. Fast response of computer will not affect using demands of all individual users.

Docker Container Engine: a lightweight virtualization technology; support to package software into a Docker image, make related configurations for software and make it public. Then other users can directly use the image.
